There is no simple scientific way to test or determine the age of mold. In the lab, most molds can go through the full growth cycle (i.e., from spore germination to vegetative growth and spore production) in 7 days. Some fast growing molds can take 2-3 days to go through the cycle. However, mold growth in nature is most likely slower than in the lab because the conditions for growth may not be optimal and also there is competition with other molds and bacteria.
Therefore, we can only speculate the age of the mold. It would be very difficult to tell where the mold came.
