Where are molds found?

Molds are present in almost every environment. They are found both indoors and outdoors. Mold growth is supported by warm and damp conditions. Outdoors mold is found in shady, damp areas or places where leaves or other vegetation is decomposing. Some molds grow on living plants causing diseases. In buildings mold can be found where humidity levels are high, such as basements and showers. They grow on drywall, baseboards, ceiling tiles, etc.
